Adriaan Tuiten, PhD,
Chief Executive Officer
Adriaan Tuiten received his PhD from Utrecht University. He has spent most of his scientific carreer studying the interactions between the biological and psychological mechanisms that govern human behavior. He has published numerous well-cited papers on hormonal regulation of behavior in influential, peer-reviewed journals.

Kim van Rooij, MD, PhD,
Chief Scientific Officer
Kim van Rooij received her MD from the VU University of Amsterdam and her PhD from Utrecht University. She joined Emotional Brain in 2008 and has co-authored and presented regulatory submissions for the U.S Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicines Agency. She authored and co-authored various research articles, including her PhD, on sexual dysfunction.

Robert Kimman, MSc,
Chief Financial Officer
Robert Kimman joined Emotional Brain in 2013. As CFO, he is primarily responsible for managing the financial planning and record-keeping. After receiving his MSc in Business Economics at VU University, Amsterdam, Robert has worked in various organizations in finance and management positions. He has over 20 years of experience in this field.

Jos Bloemers, PhD,
Director Scientific Operations
Jos Bloemers has been with Emotional Brain from the beginning. He received his Master’s degree in neuropsychology from Radboud University Nijmegen and his PhD in pharmacology from Utrecht University. He is responsible for Emotional Brain’s scientific program and has (co)authored Emotional Brain’s scientific articles, patents, regulatory submissions, clinical study protocols and clinical study reports.

Jeroen Gerritsen, MSc,
Director Clinical Operations
Jeroen Gerritsen received his Master’s degree in biological psychology at Utrecht University. He joined Emotional Brain in 2006 and has been involved in the clinical research as a psychophysiologist, and later started working on his PhD on new methodologies in this field of research. Since December 2010, he has been responsible for the coordination of the clinical studies.
